    Our uniquely qualified staff has the education, dedication, and experience to help you with your long-term dental needs. Our dental hygienists Stephanie, Amanda, and Natalie have over 30 years of experience combined working with all age groups.  Our dental assistant, Jeanne, has worked alongside Dr. Skladany since May 2000.

  • Dr. Joseph M. Skladany


    Dr. Joseph M. Skladany established his cosmetic and restorative family dentistry practice in Pinehurst, NC in April 1996.  He grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania and first attended Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery and the University of Maryland Dental School in 1995. Dr. Skladany initially discovered Pinehurst in 1982, when he was working here as a golf professional. He loved the area, and decided to establish his dental practice here in 1996. Dr. Skladany is a member of the Sandhills Dental Study Club, serving as the club's treasurer.  He is a member of the CEREC 3D User Group, Implant Symposium, and the Moore County Chamber of Commerce.  Dr. Skladany’s hobbies are traveling, cooking, golf, landscaping, and interior construction and design.

  • Jeanne

    Dental Assistant

    Jeanne joined Dr. Skladany’s practice in April 2000.  She has worked in the dental field for 32 years. She first worked with a young dentist from Brooklyn, New York, who opened a practice in Clearwater, Florida. Jeanne studied dental assisting with expanded duties at the University of Florida. She also attended St. Petersburg Junior College for certification in radiography. Jeanne worked in forensic dentistry for Pinellas County, Florida. She then moved to Moore County and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Walter Morris Jr. for 14 years prior to joining Dr. Sklandany’s office.  Jeanne is married and has a college-age daughter, Jeanne Leigh.

  • Stephanie

    Dental Hygienist

    Stephanie graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and has enjoyed a career in dentistry for 20 years. She has practiced in several states (Virginia, Colorado, Georgia, and Missouri) and has been able to learn and grow professionally from each experience, working in both private and military settings. She has been able to travel with her husband, an officer in the Army, and has since made Whispering Pines her home, as he is retiring very soon.


    She loves helping patients maintain their oral health as a part of their whole-body health and helping those with anxiety to feel comfortable and to have a positive dental experience. Stephanie treats her patients as she would her own family. Her goal is to make patients feel at home while receiving the highest quality dental treatment. She has two teenage sons, who attend New Century and Union Pines High School. In her spare time, she loves to go to the mountains, read, and garden.

  • Heather

    Patient Coordinator; HIPAA Privacy Official

    Heather joined us in February, 2015 as our Patient Coordinator and has since taken on the additional role of HIPAA Privacy Official. She also provides exceptional computer skills which are a significant benefit to our practice. Previously, she worked as an office manager, as well as diverse other positions in customer service. Born in West Texas and raised in Upstate New York, Heather moved to Moore County in 2009 and is happy to call it home. She enjoys reading, sketching, writing, and spoiling her three dogs.

  • Natalie Kovacik

    Dental Hygienist

    Natalie joined our office in July 2016. She is a native Texan, who graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio with a Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene in 2011. She moved to North Carolina from North Virginia a year ago. 


    She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, outdoors preferably and traveling when possible. You may hear Natalie talk about her children who happen to have 4 furry legs. Jameson is her 4 year old Husky/German Shepherd mix, and Thor is a 6 year old Siberian Husky. Natalie is passionate about dental hygiene and strives to give each patient an individualized, excellent experience. She looks forward to seeing your smile!

  • Lisa

    RN/Office Manager

    Lisa joined Dr. Skladany’s practice in August 2001. Lisa has previously worked for First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst Medical Clinic, St. Joseph’s Home Health, and Kaiser Permanente Urgent Care. Prior to her nursing career, Lisa worked with Progress Energy in customer accounting/customer service for 10 years.  Lisa has two adult children and two granddaughters. Lisa’s hobbies include: horseback riding, traveling, shopping, and golfing.
